Buying season is upon shopkeepers, so twice a year I fly to Paris to visit a fair called Playtime, just like last week. I took an extra day and roamed the city, visited shops and got inspired.
Look at those balconies!!!
Best way to get inspired in the children's fashion industry? Go to Bonton! But I don't just look at products, I look at the floor, the walls, the shelving, the lights, the colours, the smells...always worth a visit! http://www.bonton.fr/en/
Right next to Bonton is another must shop if you are in Paris: Merci. Three floors of beautiful products, innovative display and there is also a comfy restaurant to chill after all the shopping. http://www.merci-merci.com/en/
Ok, I have to admit: it is an addiction! Aesop! Just admit it! You might have a problem too! :) http://www.aesop.com/fr/article/paris-a-to-z.html?___store=fr_en
And then I managed to walk like hundred kilometres! :))) But the views are just so beautiful and even though the weather was just ok, we enjoyed every minute of it!
A restaurant with a view...and delicious food! We ran from the storm into the first restaurant that we found and we've landed in Comme Chai Toi! We got lucky, they had a table free and I had a lovely fish and then the chocolate cake, which was like heaven on earth! http://www.commechaitoi.fr/#accueil
Visiting a fair as huge as Playtime is overwhelming, saying the least. Hundreds of brands showing their collections, some really big and looking at so many items and products and trying to decide what will sell in a years time is just too much for the brain at times. I can't show you too many pictures of the stands and collections, but I can assure you that next summer will be amazing!
Paris, was thank goodness not all business only because I got to meet some lovely friends like Petra from Minimocks and finally got to cuddle baby Harry, Nico from Smallittle blog. Always a treat to bump into Kris and her husband from Bon-tot! They are just too lovely and so so funny! Had a lovely cake with Nicola from Cissywears, Marissa from Studioaimee, Brigitte from Beetlesandbugs, my bestie Isabel from Mwordmag. I chatted long with creative brand owners like Maria from Tellkiddo, Kristin from Gardner and the gang, Jackie from Kid + Kind and so many more that I spent most of my first day at the fair just chatting and exchanging ideas and thoughts.
I came home with an empty wallet, tired, head full of new inspirations and ideas. Paris was lovely, yet again...
